Studying at partner universities of the University of the Greater Region (UdGR)
As part of the University of the Greater Region, students at RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau can attend courses at the universities of Lorraine (Metz, Nancy), Luxembourg, Liège, Saarland and Trier and have their achievements recognized without any major bureaucratic hurdles. This makes studying internationally easy. Please note, however, that a Learning Agreement must be concluded in advance if you wish to have courses from the partner universities recognized at your home university. This is the only way to be entitled to recognition.
Further information on the UniGR cross-border study program is available at http://www.uni-gr.eu/de/studieren or directly from the UniGR consultant at RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau: Sophia Dorka (Tel. +49/(0)631/205-4353, Email: unigr@rptu.de).

The “Erasmus+” program
ERASMUS+ gives students relatively easy access to a stay abroad at a European university during their studies. Within the framework of this program, students have the opportunity to spend a study period of at least 3 to maximum of 12 months at one of our partner universities.Further Information for applicants to RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau and information on funding opportunities can be found on the Erasmus+ page of the International Affairs Unit.
For European guest students within the framework of the Erasmus+ program, further information can be found on the Erasmus “Incoming” page of the Erasmus+ page of the International Affairs Department.
Information on the application process
In principle, the following steps are necessary for the application process:
- Choose a partner university and select the lectures to attend.
Be sure to note dates and deadlines: start planning at least 6 months, preferably 1 year before the desired stay abroad!
- If desired, arrange a meeting with the Erasmus coordinator of the department, currently Dr. habil. B. Schürmann, .
- After clarifying the open questions, fill out an application (possible online via this link)
- With the completed and signed application, the next steps, such as applying to the host university or similar, can now be initiated at the International Affairs Office.
-
The Learning Agreement can be discussed with the Erasmus coordinator of the department. The following restrictions apply to the Department of Computer Science:
- Students interested in studying abroad should first have gained a foothold at RPTU, which is why at least one examination period with 20 CP at RPTU (Bachelor or Master) is required,
- at least 20 CP per semester in the previous degree course (this can be deviated from in justified cases),
- at least one theory/basic module at RPTU (Bachelor or Master),
- the average grade in your current degree program should be 2.5 or better,
- Usually, modules from the Erasmus stay can only be included in the supplement, as identical modules would have to be taken at the host university to replace the modules from the other sections of the degree program.
Further general questions about the Erasmus+ program can be answered by the International Affairs Office.
