Since the winter semester 2025/26, the Department of Computer Science has offered the reformed and system-accredited Bachelor's/Master's degree program in Computer Science.
With the re-accreditation, the Computer Science degree program was purposefully further developed and adapted to current requirements. Since the winter semester 2025/26, enrollment is only possible in the reformed program. In the compulsory area, the modules "Programming and Modeling," "Study Organization and Work Techniques," and, as an important add-on, "Secure Systems" were introduced. In this way, the program combines disciplinary foundations, methodological competencies, and a well-supported start to studies. At the same time, there is plenty of room for individual specialization: modules can be chosen flexibly within Computer Science and in other departments (e.g., as a traditional minor or application subject). The department expressly supports students in developing their own profile and actively shaping their course of study.
The Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science is a three-year university program that
- provides fundamental knowledge of Computer Science,
- knowledge of important Computer Science systems, and
- the ability to develop software
The advanced lectures toward the end of the Bachelor's program are offered in English to reflect the international orientation of the field of Computer Science.
The consecutive Master's degree program "Computer Science" is a two-year university program that presupposes the knowledge of the Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science. Students choose one area of Computer Science as their academic specialization and are qualified for demanding development work and independent research in Computer Science.
The start of studies is possible in both the summer and winter semesters.
